God’s Plan to Save Us:
hear about how our sin separates us from God (Romans 6:23), the good
news (the gospel) of God’s grace (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), and God’s love
in sending Jesus to die in our place (Ephesians 1:7).
Then, having an
obedient faith in God’s promises, we must believe in Jesus (John 8:24),
confess his name before men (Matthew 10:32-33), decide to turn away from
sin (Luke 13:3-5), and be buried with Christ in baptism for the purpose
of having our sins forgiven (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38-41).
We arise from
the waters of baptism receiving the gift of God’s Spirit (Acts 2:38) and
being added by the Lord to His church (Acts 2:47) so that we might walk
a new life (Romans 6:1-7), loving God and our neighbor (1 John 5:1-3),
and remaining faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10).
